Job Description

The Senior Application Developer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Legacy Systems solutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

5+ years Tandem/Cobol Development ExperienceMust have Proficiency in: COBOL, Pathway, TACL, Enscribe, FUP, SCUP, Peruse, Inspect, NetbatchUnderstanding of Legacy Systems best practicesProven ability to analyze and understand existing processes and codeMainframe Background a plus

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates development activities to be assigned to a team of 1-5 developersDevelops system requirement specifications for medium to large program segmentsDevelops detailed system requirement specificationsDevelops Technical Design DocumentCodes applications, databases, interface programsConduct peer review (Unit Test)Creates Unit Test casesDocuments code (comments)Documents system functionalityTroubleshoots and updates code to address defects and enhancementsDoes hands-off of development back and forth to vendor organization; ensures consistency and quality
