Frontend Developer

Role: Front-end Software EngineerType: Contract/FulltimeLocation: Canada (Remote)

 The Front-end Software Engineer is responsible for the interactive and visual design of oursoftware. They will contribute to many phases of the development process, including projectdefinition, requirements gathering, and mark-up (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). In addition todriving and implementing the front-end in individual products, they are also accountable formaintaining a quality, consistent design across our entire product range. This includesfollowing existing standards and working with the team to set new ones. The Front-endSoftware Engineer actively communicates with Product Owners, Software DevelopmentManagers, Graphic Designers, Quality Assurance, and other Software Engineers to helpensure web re building the best product possible. They will participate in the front-end teammeetings and SCRUM ceremonies, and pair/mob with other Front-end Engineers andproduct team members as needed. They should be able to abstract requirements toinnovate solutions to enhance our products. They will still be dedicated to a team/product.Expectations Abstract requirements to analyze and design innovative new software solutions forenhancement of the company’s products Develop code using the company’s best practices and current software patterns Create initial code prototypes along with fully functional components Fix UI/UX bugs in existing products Perform story reviews and assist other front-end members through training, pairprogramming, etc. as needed Clearly communicate designs, ideas, and concepts to a variety of roles, from SoftwareEngineers to company leadership Design flexible, adaptable, forward-thinking, as-future-proof-as-you-can-make-it layouts andinterfaces that display correctly in our supported browsers Keep up with best practices and evolving standards of the industry Actively participate as a full member of an Agile development teamSkills 1.5 years of experience and a degree in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, WebDesign, or a similar field OR 3.5yrs of equivalent experience Mastery with Bootstrap, including Bootstrap based admin dashboard https://adminlte.io/ Intimate understanding of HTML and CSS, basic understanding of visual design Intermediate skill with JavaScript (ES6/TypeScript) Strong portfolio of relevant design work for the web Strong understanding of web technologies, standards, and culture Familiarity with web accessibility standards, including WCAG Excellent communication skills Proficiency in a text editor/IDE of your choice Understanding of git version control and npm or yarn package managers (Nice to have) Familiarity with MUI and Material Design (Nice to have) Familiarity with test-driven development (Nice to have) Familiarity with PHP language
