Description

SAIC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Frontend Developer to join our team supporting the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The Senior Frontend Developer will be instrumental in developing and deploying our enterprise Backstage application. You will leverage your deep understanding of containerization, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) to build a robust, scalable application. Your expertise will ensure the seamless integration of our development tools and services, thereby enhancing our overall development practices and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of our Backstage application using React, Node.js, and TypeScript, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.Design and implement containerized applications with Kubernetes, managing deployment, scaling, and operations of these containers across clusters.Integrate and manage our application deployments, leveraging cloud services for enhanced scalability and security.Develop custom plugins and extensions for the Backstage application, integrating a variety of tools and systems used by our development teams.Work closely with the DevOps team to automate CI/CD pipelines and implement infrastructure as code for more efficient deployment processes.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.Stay current with the latest in cloud and container technology, advocating for the adoption of new tools and practices that can benefit our team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.8+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong focus on React, Node.js, and TypeScript.Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance based on USPTO guidelines.Candidates must have lived in the United States for the last 2 years consecutively.

Required Skills

Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including designing and deploying containerized applications in a production environment.Solid background in cloud services (such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.), with practical experience in utilizing these platforms for hosting and managing web applications.Familiarity with the Backstage framework is a plus, particularly in developing plugins and customizations.Familiarity with microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, and modern authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT).Experience with CI/CD tools, Docker, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Target salary range $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
