Smallworld Developer (Remote)

From Hays, we are collaborating with a leading telecommunications company in Europe and the US in the opening of their new technological Hub in Valencia.

We are expanding the team looking for an experienced Smallworld PNI and Magik© Developer to join an international team.

We’re on the hunt for a talented candidate who embodies the developer mindset and is either familiar with or interested in learning one or more of the following technologies:

Technology Stack:

Small World GIS from General ElectricExpert Knowledge of Magik©Knowledge of Smallworld PNIKnowledge of telecommunication technologyPractical experience in using appropriate tools for development change and configuration management Jira or Rational Team ConcertProgramming skills in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., JAVA, C++, C#, Python)Experience in implementing Microservices (REST) and Open API (Swagger)Experience in the use of Docker and cloud environments (Kubernetes)Knowledge of Kubernetes, DevOps

You’ll bring:

5+ years of related professional experienceDegree (electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications engineering) or completed vocational training in connection with several years of professional experience in the field of system engineering/softwareEnglish – Communication level

Nice to have:

Knowledge of QGIS, Oracle databases, robot frameworkKnowledge of JSON, YAML or XML and (object-oriented) programming languages: Java, Python, Powershell, SQL, PLSQLKnowledge of OGC Standards (WMS, WFS, CSW) and OGC APIExperience of working in agile projects (Scrum / SAFe or similar)Experience of working in international projectsExperience in testing of complicated business logic of enterprise-level systemsGerman - as far as some UIs are in GermanSmall world knowledge
