Java Front End Developer

Working Title: Software Engineer 3Location will be at - 4900 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78751 (currently telework) - may be required to physically attend meetings in Austin, TX, with minimal noticeCustomer/Dept: Texas Department of Family and Protective Services

I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICESThis role is responsible for the following:Define and develop low-level design documentsContribute to and follow software engineering best practices to create robust and standardized solutionsWork closely with Business Analysis and Project Management in executing the assigned development workParticipate in design and development activities for existing and new componentsPerform full stack development including Database, Services, Web Applications, and Front-end development by utilizing various versions of programming languages and frameworksWrite scalable and high available code by following the design principles and software engineering best practicesPerform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, test case automation, continuous integration and continuous deploymentIdentify, investigate, and resolve production problems in a timely manner, based on the priority

The Workers must have a strong Technical Lead background with extensive experience in the following:Strong working knowledge of the following DFPS systems/programs (including but not limited to): IMPACT, PACES, ABCS, PEIRS, NEICE, e-Report, e-Travel, General Placement Search and Community Based CareEight or more years of experience with Enterprise level Java applications with over three years of experience in a technical lead roleAbility to plan and coordinate technical activities including work break down, assignments, estimation of level of effort, enforcement of standards, code review, build engineering, testing, and release managementWork closely with Business Analysis and Project Management in prioritizing the assigned work and providing options/alternativesLead the design activities for existing and new components, make recommendations to the technology leadershipDefine the automation requirements in a priority order from within the team, including build, testing, and security from CI/CD perspectiveTechnical background with progressive experience with various versions of programming languages and frameworksAbility to simplify design complexities for Junior Developers to meet the quality and timeline objectivesExperienced with Full stack development capabilities including Database, Services, Web Applications, and Front-end development

II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS10+ years of experience required.Professional experience in software engineeringHands-on experience in Front End/UI development, enhancing and maintaining enterprise-class applications on the J2EE application development platformHands-on development experience implementing applications utilizing any J2EE Application Server, Authentication and Authorization, Caching strategiesHands-on experience in writing code with front-end development technology including Java, J2EE, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, XML, JavaScript Framework, Bootstrap 3 or 4, Angular, JSP (JavaServer Pages)Expert in one of more of Angular Framework, AJAX, Bootstrap (3 or 4), JavaScript framework, NPMExperience in IBM WebSphere Server deploymentsExperience in WebLogic Application Server deploymentsExperience with user journey mapping, story boarding, creating mockups and wireframes, application usability design, fast prototyping, and proof-of-concept developmentExpert in Responsive and Progressive Web Appl cation DevelopmentExperience in SOAP or RESTful Web ServicesWorking knowledge of code Version Control using SVN or Git or Maven, Liberty, and JiraTechnical Documentation including Design Documents, Standards, and Configuration PlansWorking knowledge of development standards for accessibility compliance for websitesExperience as a participant in agile software development teamsWorking knowledge of Test Automation (Selenium, LoadRunner, Accessibility testing) and the ability to troubleshoot integrations with HP ALMExperience in Static Coding Analysis using SonarQube or Veracode or similar productWorking knowledge of Responsive / Mobile DevelopmentWorking knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 / Sec 508Experience with UI test framework Karma, Jasmine, Cucumber, QUnit or similarWorking knowledge of Continuous Integration, Jenkins or equivalentStrong working knowledge of the following DFPS systems/programs: IMPACT, PACES, PEIRS, NEICE, SSCC, ABCS, Child Placement Portal, and Community Based Care, including Impact 2.0 Phase 2 uses JSP
