Backend Developer (Node.js & Python)

Role Description:We are seeking a skilled and experienced backend developer to join Koottu on a part-time, remote basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Node.js and Python, with the ability to manage and enhance our existing backend infrastructure. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely and the opportunity to significantly impact our product and user experience. Your day-to-day tasks will include writing clean and efficient code, collaborating with the front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, implementing security and data protection measures, testing and debugging the backend code, and optimizing the application for maximum speed and scalability.

Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and APIs using Node.js and Python.Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner.Ensure security and data protection.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications:Strong knowledge and experience in Back-End Web Development and Software DevelopmentProficiency in Node.js and PythonUnderstanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principlesKnowledge of Front-End Development and experience collaborating with front-end developersStrong problem-solving and debugging skillsAbility to write clean, maintainable, and efficient codeExperience with database systems (e.g., SQL, MongoDB)Proven experience as a backend developer with a strong portfolio of projects.Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).Understanding of security and data protection principles.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Previous experience working in a remote team environment.
