The DB is now SQL Server, and we use SSMS.Keep in mind that having used the Micro Focus COBOL compiler is not the same thing as having Micro Focus Enterprise Developer/Server experience.Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications using Micro Focus Enterprise Developer within the MS Visual Studio IDECollaborate with team members using GitHub for version control and code managementInteract with SQL Server databases using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)Analyze and resolve technical issues, and provide support for existing COBOL applicationsParticipate in code reviews and adhere to established coding standards and best practicesAssist in the migration and modernization of legacy COBOL systemsRequirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in COBOL programmingProficiency in using Micro Focus Enterprise Developer within the MS Visual Studio IDEExperience with version control systems, preferably GitHubStrong understanding of SQL and experience working with SQL Server and SSMSKnowledge of modern development methodologies, such as Agile or ScrumExcellent problem-solving and debugging skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Micro Focus Enterprise ServerFamiliarity with mainframe concepts and technologiesKnowledge of other programming languages, such as Java or C#Experience with automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
