Python Lead Developer

One of the companies with which we collaborate in Joppy, a magnetics design platform, is looking for Lead Developer (Python) to join their team in Spain (full remote model from Spain).

About the RoleWe are searching for a passionate and experienced Magnetic Python Lead Engineer to join our growing team. As a Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of power electronics by leveraging Python to automate workflows, develop innovative solutions, and lead a team of talented engineers.

Responsibilities:• Leading and managing the backend development team (4 people) acting as a technical reference in Python development (it is a hands-on position)• Lead the development and implementation of Python-based tools and applications for magnetics design, simulation, and optimization• Drive the design and implementation of scalable and easy-to-maintain data infrastructure, leveraging your expertise in data architecture and databases• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and develop solutions• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code, some coding is required (this is not a pure management role)• Responsible for training and mentoring developers on the team and recommending actions around hiring, firing and promotions• Participate in the development and evangelization of the Python coding standards within the organization• Stay up to date on the latest advancements in Python technologies• Responsible for architectural decisions with consultation from other members of engineering leadership• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust magnetic design and simulation platform

Requirements:• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Python programming• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles (OOP)• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and REST API• You have experience with data pipelines or distributed message queues• Experience with scientific computing libraries (e.g. NumPy, SciPy)• Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning concepts (a plus)• Experience with magnetics design principles and simulation tools (a plus)• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills• Strong communication and collaboration skills• Demonstrated experience successfully leading teams in a dynamic, fast time to market and customer focused environment• Passion for innovation and a desire to make a positive impact• You are eager to learn new technology and solve problems• We are an international company, so the ability to read and write in English is a must.• Work authorization in Spain (no visa sponsorship available)
