Position: NodeJS Developer

Duration: Unpaid internship for 6 months

Role Description

This is a remote internship role for a NodeJS Developer position. The intern will be responsible for developing server-side applications, managing backend services, and integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. The intern will also assist in the design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.

Qualifications:

Strong proficiency with JavaScriptKnowledge of Node.js and frameworks available for it, such as ExpressUnderstanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workaroundsGood understanding of server-side templating languagesGood understanding of server-side CSS preprocessorsBasic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3Understanding accessibility and security complianceUser authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environmentsIntegration of multiple data sources and databases into one systemUnderstanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable applicationAbility to work independently and remotelyBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldPrevious Node.js development experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.jsCollaborate with front-end developers on the integration of elementsImplement security and data protectionEnsure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-endWrite reusable, testable, and efficient codeDesign and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applicationsIntegration of data storage solutions (e.g., databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.)Handle other duties as assigned by the development team
