Wielding the power of ITSM best practices, we require an enlightened Developer who has a knack for good, clean code and a desire to contribute to something great. Our ideal candidate has the ability to maintain and manage our existing framework while fixing bugs and developing enhancements – all with an eye for scalability and additional platform API integrations – while always keeping the end-user experience paramount.While mainly diving into the weeds of day-to-day issues and priorities, our Developer will maintain a pulse on the SDLC, helping us to think one step ahead and ensuring our roadmap is in line with the future. Our Developer will work closely alongside our dedicated DevSecOps Team and will interface with departmental leadership on future-minded enhancement proposals. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING(Otherwise known as the fine print, the list of job tasks and responsibilities.)

Entara’s Jr. Platform Developer employs knowledge of programming and APIs to administer, maintain, and advance Entara’s proprietary platform based on ServiceNow. Daily development tasks span completing enhancements, resolving known defects, building and maintaining integrations, working on version upgrades and performing monthly/quarterly maintenance tasks. Leveraging Python and Javascript programming skills and integration architecture knowledge, our Jr. Platform Developer contributes to continued platform development and serves as a key resource to the DevSecOps team, acting as a development resource on new module expansion projects, ServiceNow maintenance, integration projects, and issues requiring immediate resolution. Our Jr. Platform Developer reports directly to our DevSecOps Lead.

Operational Platform Support for Entara and Platform ClientsAttend daily standup to gather work assignments, scope out commitments, and provide status updates on open development projects.Troubleshoot reported issues on the ServiceNow platform (defects); determine appropriate remediation, and apply fixes (following standard change procedures).Ensure QA of developed features: consistently send completed features to testing by another team member and be available to test other developer’s work, as needed.Develop and maintain third-party API integrations into the platformExecute periodic audit and maintenance schedules on platform components (CMBD, detection of unmanaged devices, etc.) to ensure data integrity, consistent standards across applications, and requirements fulfillment.Maintain consistent follow-through on development commitments and assigned timelines. Proactively call out roadblocks to timely delivery and escalate issues as necessary to maintain project integrity.Employ an understanding of Entara Core Processes utilized by Managed Services and Professional Services teams, adjusting the platform in ways that will continue to enhance our team’s ability to execute with ease.

DocumentationMaintain and update standards documentation for platform maintenance in collaboration with DevSecOps Leadership and Architects.Utilize available testing procedures and plans for effective QA.Track your work in ServiceNow: enter time and work notes against applicable feature record.

CommunicationFollow established communication guidelines to ensure platform stakeholders and impacted users are aware of impactful changes before they occur.Provide proactive updates to stakeholders and users on issues requiring immediate resolution, always employing an empathetic tone toward concerns and inquiries.Summarize applied changes and their purposes to platform stakeholders to ensure organizational awareness and consistency.

Platform AdvancementProvide perspective on development opportunities that may influence the platform roadmap.Collaborate with cross-company stakeholders to gather business requirements, identify, and promote enhancements to assist in Entara and client scalability.

WHO YOU ARE: REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You are familiar with ServiceNow development and administration and boast the following competencies:Foundational understanding of Domain SeparationExperience with UAT TestingExpertise working with RESTful APIs

You have at least 2 years of experience developing software for business use and utilizing the following coding languages:HTML & CSSJavaScript (required)Python (required)Golang (bonus)

You are available for an 8-hour shift (with standard breaks) generally performed between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CT Monday-Friday. Being a true 24x7 operation, we all take the lead to keep our operations afloat. As a Developer, you will be an instrumental asset in our release cycle which may require you to (on occasion) be available after hours. You don’t shrink away from unconventional hours when the task requires it—you pride yourself on being a team player.

You’re ready to be an effective remote worker and have a dedicated, private space for a home office with a private internet connection with at least 50MBPS bandwidth. Public Wi-Fi and shared common spaces do not meet these standards.
