Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior WebSphere Commerce (WCS) Developer to join our team. The selected candidate will work remotely on a contract basis for one of our direct clients, a leading membership-only warehouse club chain. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with IBM WebSphere Commerce, Java, and REST APIs, and will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining e-commerce solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Customize: Design, develop, and customize IBM WebSphere Commerce applications to meet business requirements. • Integrate Systems: Integrate WCS with various third-party systems and APIs to enhance functionality. • Implement REST APIs: Develop and implement RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration with other applications. • Optimize Performance: Monitor and optimize the performance of the WCS platform to ensure high availability and scalability. • Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality solutions. • Maintain Code Quality: Ensure the code is of high quality, maintainable, and follows best practices and standards. • Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner. • Document Solutions: Create and maintain technical documentation for all developed solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in Java and J2EE development. • WebSphere Commerce: Strong hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS) platform. • Java: Proficient in Java, with a deep understanding of Java EE and related technologies. • REST APIs: Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs. • Spring Framework: Experience with Spring Framework, including Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Security. • Database Skills: Proficiency in working with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB). • Web Technologies: Strong knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React. • Version Control: Experience with version control systems such as Git and SVN. • Agile Methodology: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. • Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: IBM WebSphere Commerce certification is a plus. • E-commerce: Experience in the e-commerce domain, particularly with membership or subscription-based services. • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
