Job Description:Position Overview: The ServiceNow ITOM and Service Mapping Specialist will be responsible for implementing and managing the IT Operations Management (ITOM) and Service Mapping modules within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining these modules to ensure efficient IT service delivery and operations.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping modules.Configure and customize ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.Develop and implement comprehensive service maps to visualize and manage the relationships between IT services and infrastructure.Collaborate with IT teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related Discovery and Service Mapping configurations and integrations.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.Stay current with ServiceNow best practices, new features, and industry trends to continually improve the platform and processes.Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.Conduct Regular audits and reviews of service maps to ensure data accuracy and completeness.Stay up to date with latest ServiceNow features and best practices, and recommend improvements to current processes.Experience with Tag Based, Top Down and Traffic based discovery approachQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.Strong knowledge of IT Operations Management processes and best practices.Proficiency in configuring and customizing ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python.Proven ability to design and implement complex service maps and integrations.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.ServiceNow certifications in ITOM and/or Service Mapping are highly desirable.Preferred Skills:Experience with other ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, CMDB, and Asset Management.Knowledge of ITIL principles and best practices.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Experience with automation tools and frameworks.Expertise in configuring and customizing the Service Mapping module.Ability to create, modify, and manage service maps to visualize IT services and infrastructure relationships.Proficiency in JavaScript, as ServiceNow scripting often requires it.Knowledge of other scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting can be beneficial.Experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs for integrating ServiceNow with external systems and data sources.Familiarity with MID Server configuration and management for discovery and data collection.Understanding of network protocols, devices, and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, load balancers).Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and database systems (SQL, Oracle).
