Python Back End Developer

As a Python Back End Developer with our Engineering Team at Bigger, you will be working on a complex project with an active userbase. Bigger is an Australian software development company that turns startups into scaleups, join a team of 90+ developers!

What you'd be doing in this role:

Take ownership of the existing Python Django codebase, working alongside other 2 developersScale and evolve our database schema and infrastructure Scale and evolve our backend runtime infrastructureWork closely with the frontend developersEnsure the scalability, security, observability, and performance of our systemsConduct code development, review, testing, and deploymentShowcase problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Familiarity with agile and lean software engineeringMust-have an understanding of fundamental engineering concepts, you must possess knowledge in all of these: SOLID principles, clean code, design patterns, testingMust-have Understanding of unit testing and related frameworks such as pytestAwareness of major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Experience designing and integrating APIs - RESTful APIFamiliarity with RDBMS databases (MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, etc)Proficiency in PythonExperience building applications in Django

This role is 100% remote, Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, flexible hours.
