Who We're Looking For

We are looking for Lead Software Developer who is passionate about designing and writing software to join a collaborative and distributed group of Developers on our core Analytics team. The core Analytics team is responsible for building data pipelines, frameworks and tools to produce quality data that enables business and customers to explore insights. If you have working knowledge of big data frameworks (Hadoop, spark or flink) or have extensive experience in one of the popular programming languages (C++, Java, Python or Scala), and are open to learn new technologies we encourage you to apply.

About the Job

We are looking for Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer who is passionate and experienced professional in designing and developing reports and dashboards that enables our internal and external customers derive meaningful insights and trends. The candidate should posses strong analytical skills, proficiency in BI tools and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts. The candidate will be part of the Analytics team responsible for building and maintaining BI solutions to shape Syniverse products of the future that enables business and customers to have seamless experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.

5 -7 years experience as a BI DeveloperMinimum 2+ years of experience with MicroStrategy Report Development Strong hands-on experience with MicroStrategy dossier and report development.Working knowledge using Object Manager to deploy packages, and Command Manager to run commands and scripts.Experience and understanding of data warehousing, performance tuning, table partitioning to deliver optimize solutionsExperience or knowledge of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc)Experience working with UI/UX design teams to create appealing and intuitive dashboards and reportsExperience with MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, Hadoop, or other ISO SQL RDBMS for data queryingExperience using unix/Linux system environmentsProficient in using popular BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or others is plus Scripting language skills (Python, bash/shell, server-side JS, etc) is plus Experience deploying containerized applications (Amazon ECS or Kubernetes) is plusDesire to continually keep up with advancements in BI relevant technologies Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies Constantly improve product quality, security, and performance

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, configure, and support dossiers and reports in reporting tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI) supporting legacy and new Syniverse productsCreate reporting data models Write and maintain clear architecture, tests and end user system documentation Collaboratively define, scope, prioritize, and estimate workPerform all phases of product development; including design, coding, testing, and deployment.Engage with Product stakeholders and others to enhance current product (life cycle development) and define product requirements for new functionality.Work with Operations team to deploy releases and troubleshoot issues.Triage, reproduce, and debug issues reported by other coworkers for our areas of responsibilityWork autonomously on new items and be proactive in unblocking yourself either by finding solutions or reaching out to other peers
