Shopify UI Developer

DescriptionWork collaboratively with designers, researchers, project managers, quality analysts, and other developers to plan and implement interactive experiences for agency work.Think through project challenges to provide recommendations and out of the box solutions.Lead technology discussions for client interactions.Research and evaluate new technologies that may improve performance and the elegance of how we work.

RequirementsSolid experience (3+ years minimum) in UI or Frontend Development with a proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as VueJs and ReactJS.Proficiency in developing on Shopify.Experience working with clients to gauge expectations. Ability to translate brief to actionable work, execute against requirements, and demo work while adhering to feedback from client to deliverable.Ability to own sprint tasks and burn down.Solid experience in developing CSS3 styles straight and through SASS. Deep knowledge of SASS features and how it works, strongly desired.Excellent problem solving and debugging skills with the DOM.Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.Experience using GIT as a version control system with a team.Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them.Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.Familiarity with tools such as Sketch or Photoshop.

Preferred skills & technologiesHigh-level communication skills, being able to communicate complex technical concepts and ideas for non-technical audiencesExposure to GraphQL in client or server environmentsFull-stack experience with languages such as JavaScript, PHP, LambdasExperience working with AWS cloud platform services such as S3, CloudFront, and LambdaFamiliarity with databases such as MySQLAbility to quickly learn a wide range of languages and toolsExperience working at a professional services company such as a marketing agency or consulting firm Experience managing complex web development projects Experience working in the eCommerce industryExperience with Shopify+ platform
