The app facilitates dating, finding friends, and professional networking, with a commitment to fostering respectful and empowering interactions among its users.Role Overview:We are seeking a talented Android Engineer for a 6-month contract to cover maternity leave. This role is vital for maintaining and enhancing the app's setup process, focusing on ensuring user security and preventing bot activity. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and quickly integrate into the team.Responsibilities:Collaborate with a team of 3 developers to enhance and maintain the app's setup and onboarding features.Implement and optimize security measures to prevent bot activity and user impersonation.Focus on user authentication processes, including passkey implementation.Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.Work closely with product managers and designers to create a seamless and secure user experience.Ensure high performance and responsiveness of the app.Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.Requirements:Proven experience as an Android Engineer, with a strong focus on app security.Proficiency in Kotlin and familiarity with Java.Experience with Android SDK and various Android frameworks.Knowledge of security measures, including passkey implementation and bot detection.Ability to independently deliver high-quality code and complete projects on time.Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles.Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with developing and maintaining features related to user authentication and security in social networking or dating apps.Understanding of the unique challenges and considerations in building and maintaining large-scale consumer applications.
