About This Role

Client is seeking an experienced UX/UI, Front-End Developer to build the front-end experience at the center of Client ’s newest business and join our growing technical team. You’ll work as part of a cross-disciplinary, agile group to deliver first-class software solutions that help power Client ’s growth in our newest venture. You’re self-motivated, collaborative, and able to operate effectively at every stage of the software development process. Our stack of choice is Elixir, TypeScript, and React with Postgres as the database tier.

Client has offices in Cincinnati, Ohio however this is a full-time and remote position and the candidate must be based in the United States. Candidates with Elixir and React experience will be fast-tracked.

Essential Responsibilities

Design and Develop modern web applications Develop reusable components using TypeScript and React Design and develop user-friendly user interfaces that are responsive and intuitive Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software within a project scope ensuring that the work product meets end-user acceptance criteria Manage self-directed assignments to resolve software defects or implement features to meet schedule commitments with a high level of quality Estimating and scoping development tasks and making recommendations for innovations and improvements relating to software component designs. Includes reviewing the work of team members and completing elements of design Acquire knowledge of industry and company standards, tools, and technology with a focus on pragmatic application to business-focused software solutions through initiative and self-study Collaborates with back-end developers to integrate UI with dynamic data Work closely with QA to deliver quality code in an agile environment Develops tooling or automated processes to streamline UI development Fixes bugs or other anomalies discovered in UI code Creates and maintains documentation of UI code or technical topics/processes Takes initiative to improve upon coding standards, clarify requirements, and seek opportunities for growth Investigate new technologies, paradigms or designs through rapid prototyping Demonstrate strong interest in technology, self-guided learning approach and awareness of industry trends. Mentor and support colleagues; share knowledge and experience within the team.

Skills And Experience

BS degree with 5+ years of design-related work experience Experience in responsive and mobile design Experience in accessibility 2+ years developing enterprise web applications UI design and development using HTML5, CSS3, APIs (REST, JSON) Elixir required Experience using any JavaScript/TypeScript-based frameworks
