Position Overview:LawDepot.com is currently expanding and looking to recruit a Software Developer in Edmonton, Alberta. Working with the Information Systems department, you will be responsible for the development and enhancement of our Online Virtual Notary platform and Wholesale Partner platform. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities for a hybrid or remote work schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:Develop full-stack solutions for a large scale, eCommerce website and deliver code that creates an excellent experience for our usersDrive project success by engaging in every aspect of the development life cycle, from initial planning to code deploymentBuild new components to enhance our web applicationParticipate in the component architecture and design of new technical functionality based on business specificationsUtilize best practices to code and implement exceptional solutionsPlan and support cross-site systems integrationsCollaborate with other developers by participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, feedback, and brainstormingProvide constructive feedback, and great technical suggestions during team discussions and planning meetingsBe available to identify and troubleshoot technical issuesCreate robust acceptance criteria to maintain unit and integration testsCommunicate progress updates to the team and all required stakeholders
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:Post-Secondary Education in Computing Science or equivalent (ex. Digital Media and IT, Information Systems Technology)Experience in a Software Developer, Web Developer, Software Engineer, or equivalent role is preferredKnowledge with our core tech stack: C#, .NET 6+, TypeScript / JavaScript, SQL (Microsoft SQL Server or other RDBMS)Additional knowledge in the following areas:JavaScript frameworks: Vue 3 (preferred), Angular, ReactNode and NPM build systems.NET Web APIs (or REST APIs) or .NET MVCUnit Testing frameworks – MS Test, nUnit, xUnitSCSS (or CSS, LESS, SASS), Git, HTML, JSONExperience utilizing Web Sockets and/or SignalR in applications would be an assetAbility to receive feedback, adapt, and make improvementsAbility to plan, implement, test, and document softwareEffective written and verbal communication skillsAble to identify and troubleshoot technical issues independentlyEagerness to learn and growCapable of prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines and goals
