Remote Junior VB.NET/C# Middleware Developer — Chill working environment

Come join a small 100% remote team based out of Philadelphia, PA in the United States. SwiftData is an established data integration middleware company with an application used by higher ed and enterprise financial services (aka big banks). These schools and businesses rely on us to automate the data workflows between their HR and ERP systems and their door access control and one card systems. We’ve been around for over 9 years and are looking for motivated and entrepreneurial people to join us and help us build the next phase of our company.

We are seeking a junior-level software engineer with some VB.NET or C# experience to develop new and modify existing customized middleware data integrations and enterprise desktop applications for our higher ed and corporate clients.

You will work closely with our co-founder/lead developer and senior developer. Great opportunity for growth and for long-term, stable employment. Starting salary range COL 5-6M/month.

You’ll be responsible for…Responding to help desk tickets from our client support system.Creating workflow diagrams and documenting processes.Building and maintaining client's customized middleware programs.Participating in technical development on new products.QA’ing other programmer’s code.Intelligently and politely communicate with clients over email and video calls when needed.

Only apply if you…Speak and write excellent English.Enjoy working in a low-stress environment.Have at least two years professional .NET coding experience.Are proficient in VB.NET and C#, or be willing to quickly learn one if you know the other.Have a strong understanding of object oriented programming.Experience developing .NET WinForms console applicationsHave a good sense of UI.Are experienced with the following .NET objects: System.Threading, System.Data.Oledb, Oracle.DataAccess, ClientSystem.Drawing.Are experienced working with JSON, XML, and REST.Proficient with SQL.We are a Microsoft SQL house so you'll need to understand that database. Must also have some knowledge of Oracle and MySQL.Can interpret data requirements and turn those into .NET code. Must also be able to explain standard ANSI SQL statements to clients who may not have experience.Don’t hate talking to people (don’t have to love it but you do need to tolerate and be nice to clients).
