ABOUT THE ROLE: Principal Engineer – Linux Kernel Network Developer
We are searching for a Principal Linux Kernel Network Developer to join the Aviatrix Dataplane Engineering team which consist of a small talented team in a fast-paced, growing startup. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the design and development of improving the efficiency, scalability, and stability of our Dataplane.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chart the future course and direction of the data plane within the product, driving innovation and strategic development. Own the design and development of new eBPF code for packet processing Tune Linux Networking Stack to best performance Collaborate, maintain, and develop Kernel patches and modules
REQUIREMENTS:
8+ years of Linux kernel networking development experience and/or Linux network driver development experience. Proficiency in C/Golang programming languages. Strong eBPF networking experience, particularly in developing and coding networking solutions. Experience running and developing Linux systems as a router, focusing on coding and software implementation. Strong understanding of CPU architecture, particularly in relation to optimizing network packet processing. In-depth understanding of the architecture of the Linux operating system. User space packet forwarding experience with frameworks like DPDK/VPP, focusing on high-performance packet processing and software development. BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with a strong foundation in coding and software development.
US Pay Range
The US annual base salary range for this full-time position is $205,000-$285,000 + benefits + 401(k) match + equity. The pay range is determined by the role, work location, job-related skills, level, experience and relevant education. [Certain roles are eligible to earn sales commission, depending on the terms of the applicable plan.] The range displayed is the minimum and maximum target base salary and is applicable only for new hires for the listed position located in the US.
