Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor”, the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. .Responsibilities:Report to and collaborate closely with Engineering Managers to ensure projects align with goals and objectives.Collaborate with UX/UI design teams to craft robust and innovative front-end user experiences.Manage multiple projects concurrently, addressing specific needs and adapting to requirements as they arise.Serve as a subject matter expert in BigCommerce, specializing comprehensively across the platform.Work alongside Front End Developers to create custom-tailored BigCommerce themes, modify templates, and develop intricate custom solutions.Collaborate with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and clients to architect and develop BigCommerce websites.Develop compelling solutions and functionality that meet user needs and business objectives.Stay informed about BigCommerce API changes and effectively integrate them into project development.Understand business requirements driving project features and functions, offering internal consultation as necessary.

Requirements:Minimum 5+ years of experience in front-end technology development.Proven expertise as a BigCommerce Developer, demonstrated through a strong portfolio showcasing front-end user experience development.Ownership of project deliverables, ensuring quality and timely completion.Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS, including nuances, semantics, and best practices.Expertise in JavaScript, including frameworks and libraries.Solid understanding of progressive enhancement, responsive design, accessibility, and UX/UI best practices.Expert level proficiency with the BigCommerce Stencil framework (handlebars, front matters, etc.).Comfortable working with GraphQL, Storefront APIs, and Stencil/Liquid util-APIs.Solid understanding of common web accessibility patterns and best practices.Experience in integrating with REST APIs for data exchange. Background in page speed optimization and rendering efficiency testing and remediation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
