Software Engineer/.NET Developer

We are seeking a Software Engineer with .NET experience to help us build high quality software for our clients. Our ideal candidate has experience in building custom apps and working on a collaborative team.

Dymaptic is an innovative, woman-owned GIS service provider offering consulting services and software development. Our headquarters is in Portland, Oregon, but our team is fully remote. Dymaptic employees and contractors can work from home, from a coffee shop, or on a beach in Hawaii. As long as you are reliable and meet your goals, you can work from wherever. For this role, preference will be given to applicants in and around Washington, DC. Active Security Clearance is highly preferred.

What You’ll Do as a Software Engineer:We build mapping software for our clients and develop off-the-shelf products. Our customers include Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and municipal governments, and our Software Engineers combine commercial tools, open-source software, and custom code to build the complete solutions our clients need.

Responsibilities of a Software Engineer include:Build new products and add features to existing productsDevelop front & back-end web applicationsDevelop desktop and mobile applicationsDevelop Rest APIs & micro servicesCreate reusable, effective, and scalable codeParticipate in code reviews and team learning as both a developer and a reviewerPerform other programming duties as assigned

Qualifications of Our Ideal Software Engineer:Minimum 2 years of software development experience in a professional environment, or evidence of commensurate skills (e.g., GitHub code samples)Minimum 2 years experience in .NET (C#, F#, Visual Basic) OR minimum 5 years in another tech stackExperience in at least some of the following: Asp.NET Core; Blazor; WPF; SQL; Angular; ArcGIS (huge plus); PythonMust be willing to learn and switch between frameworks and languages Must be a self-starter requiring little to no supervision

Salary Range: We are a small team: 16 people, looking for number 17. Our hiring goal is always to find the best person to join our talented team, and we are not structured with predetermined pay ranges by role. We will negotiate in good faith, based on your specific skill level and experience. That being said, there is a wide range in the market for Software Engineers, and we understand why providing a range is helpful for applicants. Our current development team members make between $90,000 - $140,000 annually, and we expect the new hire to start in that range, based on your software development experience and skill level.
