We're looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to take over my role leading on bespoke WordPress developments. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality bespoke WordPress websites and supporting our clients to continually improve their WordPress websites.
You will have direct contact with the clients, helping to gather requirements and to define the scope of work. You will also be in a management role, helping to support other developers and to lead the way with best practices.
This is a fully remote full-time position, however you must be based in the UK and be able to travel for occasional client meetings and team activities.
About the roleWe're looking for someone with the following attributes:
Brilliant communication skills - we need someone that can proactively support the team and our clients. You may need to guide a developer with solving an issue, or jump on calls with clients to help gather requirements for new work.Extensive experience developing bespoke WordPress websites with ACF gutenberg blocks and minimal plugins.Capable of creating custom functionality in PHP e.g. integrating with 3rd party APIs, creating scripts to import data, creating functions that don't exist in WordPress.Capable of accurately converting a Figma design and creating all the necessary HTML, CSS and vanilla JS. You'll need a good eye for detail and the ability to create mobile first responsive websites. Capable of working on projects alone or as part of the team.Experience taking a project from an idea to full delivery - including setting up hosting and deployment.
Essential skillsTo be successful at this role it's essential that you are highly proficient and confident with the following:
PHP, MySQL, CSS (SCSS), HTML, JavaScriptKnowledge of WCAG accessibility requirementsA good understanding of how to optimise a websites performanceBespoke WordPress theme and plugin developmentResponsive development, with a good eye for detailWorking with 3rd party REST APIsCreating bespoke REST APIs in WordPressSolving bugs in WordPress
