UI/UX Developer (Japanese speaker)

Upwork has partnered with an entrepreneur-led health and wellness company based in Ada, Michigan. It is committed to helping people live better, healthier lives – across more than 100 markets worldwide. To continue making an impact, they are seeking for an UX/UI Developer. The selected freelancer will be responsible for bridging the gap between design and technology, ensuring that our digital products provide exceptional user experiences while meeting the unique demands of the Japanese market.

Responsibilities:Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize design requirements based on market-specific needs.Create user-centered designs, wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.Develop responsive and visually appealing UI designs for web and mobile applications that align with the brand's aesthetic and user expectations.Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions, iteratively improving the user experience.Leverage both English and Japanese language skills to communicate effectively with international and local team members, as well as to gather user feedback.Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to ensure seamless translation of design concepts into functional code, while considering technical constraints and performance.

Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology-related field is preferred.Intermediate (or higher) skill level of JavaScript/TypeScript.6-10 years of experience in UX/UI Development or Front End Development.Proficient in converting UX designs into interactive and functional UI components.Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS and CSS extension languages(SCSS, SASS, LESS etc).Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices.Experience collaborating with frontend developers.Experience coding/implementing UI/UX for enterprise level application.Experience creating Web-UI components.Proficiency using Git/GitHub for reliable version control.Responsive site coding experience (5 years or more).Intermediate (or higher) skill level of JavaScript/TypeScript.Experience of agile development process and management.Comfortable collaborating with Product and Design teams to develop world-class user experiences.Proficiency in English and Japanese
