Child care is a key priority for all levels of government and B.C. is taking important steps to build a future where quality, inclusive and affordable child care is a core service that families can rely on. Under ChildCareBC and the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, B.C. is on the path to achieving this goal, with important investments to reduce child care fees for families, build more licensed spaces, and increase supports for those working in the sector.

The Child Care Division is leading the policy and program development that will establish child care as a core service of government, creating the foundation of an integrated system of community-based care with a focus on improving inclusion and equitable access to quality, affordable child care services.

The Child Care Capital, Community and ECE Registry Services Branch administers funding to expand child care space creation throughout the province, community-based programs to support the child care sector and houses the ECE Registry, which provides oversight to BC Early Childhood Educators. As a Senior Program Developer for Child Care Capital, you will work closely with cross-ministry partners to develop and delivery child care capital funding programs for communities and link in with other community-based services and programs to support the launch of service delivery.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, public administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. A minimum of 2 years' experience in supporting and/or implementing program design and/or policy development.A minimum of 1 year recent experience(within the last 5 years) supervising staff.A minimum of 1 year experience communicating with senior level management including making business/policy recommendations, developing program materials and/or communicating findings.Experience identifying issues, preparing and providing high-level briefings, documents and/or presentations to senior officials.Experience managing multiple, high priority projects in a changing environment.

Preference May Be Given To Candidates With

Additional years experience in any of the above requirements.Experience working with child care programs.Experience working in the BC Public Service.Experience supervising in the BC Public Service.

Remote work is allowed. This position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement.
