Job Description

We seek an experienced Full Stack Web Developer with extensive expertise in React.js to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain innovative software solutions. Your proficiency in React.js, UI/UX design, and front-end development will be crucial in delivering exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities

Develop new user-facing features using React.js and build reusable components and front-end libraries.Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.Optimize components for maximum performance across various devices and browsers.Collaborate with product designers and backend engineers to design and implement APIs.Implement modern, responsive UIs while ensuring cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards.Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.Mentor junior developers, sharing technical expertise and best practices.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in JavaScript, with 8 years of hands-on experience.Experience with React.js and its core principles.Knowledge of Python and Java.Strong knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, including modern JavaScript libraries and tooling.Experience with UI/UX design tools like Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD.Knowledge of UI/UX best practices and user-centered design methodologies.Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.Familiarity with front-end build pipelines and tools like Webpack, Babel, npm, or Yarn.Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.Proficiency in version control systems like Git and code collaboration platforms like GitHub or GitLab.Experience integrating APIs into front-end applications and understanding of API authentication methods such as OAuth, JWT, or API keys.Understanding of AWS services relevant to front-end development, such as S3, CloudFront, and API Gateway.Experience with AWS Amplify or similar platforms for building and deploying scalable web applications.

Nice To Have

Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.Familiarity with backend technologies and frameworks like Node.js, Express.js, or similar.Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with Terraform.Knowledge of deployment strategies (e.g., Blue/Green deployments, canary releases) and their implementation using CI/CD pipelines.

Skills And Attributes

Strong understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices.Ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable, and performant front-end architectures.Proficiency in testing frameworks like Jest, Enzyme, or React Testing Library.Strong debugging and optimization skills.Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams.Proactive in learning new technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; master’s degree is a plus.Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in front-end development, focusing on React.js and UI/UX design.Previous experience in software engineering roles, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Additional Information

This is a permanent remote home-based role in Costa Rica. No relocation available.
