Matillion ETL Developer

Responsibilities

Participate as a technical expert in data warehouse development and support; this role does not involve database design or architecture, but rather focuses on data integration, transformation, and pipeline development.Oversee or assist with multiple projects while supporting existing processes including design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.Work with business units on requirements gathering.Assist in setting-up and configuring job dependencies and data aggregation with other IT teams, as needed.Proactively research solutions and best practices.Learn new technologies and assist other team members with tasks.Design, build, and maintain all things related to data warehouse.Collaborate and problem-solve with Business Department, IT Services Delivery, IT Finance/Contract Management, and vendors to accomplish the project's needs.Help complete deliverables according to the needs of the end-users and stakeholders for projects, as assigned.

Requirements

Expertise in orchestration, integration, and design.3-5 years of experience developing Matillion orchestrations and transformation jobs.3-5 years of experience in Snowflake development including creating tables and views, excellent understanding how to connect to multiple databases to navigate the data, and writing SQL and Python code.Hands-on experience developing solutions with Snowpipe including the ability to write APIs.Recent hands-on experience with Matillion and the ability to learn other technologies to assist team members with tasks.Proficiency in working with Snowflake and Matillion, together.Understanding of data warehouse concepts and SQL.Ability to gather requirements and build Matillion pipelines.Experience sourcing data from files or APIs and loading it into an S3 data lake.Familiarity with data transformation and schema mapping to ensure data quality and adherence to standards.Experience defining requirements with business or data analysts, or implementing transformational logic based on provided requirements.Experience using data warehouse platforms (e.g., Talend, DataStage, TimeXtender).Experience designing, developing, and implementing data warehouse solutions.Experience using API, XML, JSON, and SSIS.Hands-on experience with ETL tools.Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with SQL Server databases.Experience with UC4/Automic or other batch automation tools.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3 years of practical working experience in data warehousing.Experience with Globalscape SFTP.
