Appian Developer

As an Appian Consultant who is passionate about delivering value to your customers, you will be working closely with an equally enthusiastic team of developers and engineers working in an Agile environment to modernize our customer’s applications using low-code solutions. As part of the process, you will be learning from peers/ seniors and mentoring juniors in your tenure with Nuvitek.

In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Nuvitek’s mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to adapt to dynamic environments rapidly.

Key Responsibilities:Help to envision, design, and implement new features utilizing the Appian low-code platform for the projects based upon the prioritized product backlogOwn and lead design and development efforts in certain business domain areas within the applicationMentor junior developers and share knowledge thru brown bagsBe proactive in learning new technologies and contribute towards hackathons and internal framework developmentBring innovating, out-of-the-box thinking to solving challenging problems, brainstorming with peers, and utilizing available resources, including internal as well as external resourcesProvide estimates of upcoming sprints’ work based upon current understanding of the functionalityWork with functional and testing team to understand the business functionality, to ensure what is developed meets or exceeds the end-user needsUnit test all developed features, including edge cases. Also, be comfortable conducting peer review of other developer’s code as neededAttend and actively participate in all Agile-related meetings. Work within the Agile framework, including participating in User Story grooming sessions, Sprint Planning meetings, and retrospectivesDelivery presentations as required to the client during Sprint demos and coordinating meetings with intersecting teams as needed.Participate in implementation architectures for digital solutions, frameworks, and acceleratorsParticipate in knowledge sharing sessions within the company to socialize best practices and draft white papers as applicableHelp with building proof of concept, creating technical solutions for internal application as needed

Required Qualifications, Work Experience, and Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Bachelors or other IT-related degreeCertified Appian Associate Developer or Appian Senior DeveloperExperience leading a team of developersApplicants MUST be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government’s Public Trust security clearanceAt least 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of digital, bpm low code solutions using AppianStrong Appian development and debugging skillsFairly good understanding of data concepts (SQL, Databases) and business workflowsExperience working on recent Appian versions (20. x or later)Strong verbal and writing skills, including the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels with technical as well as business resources

Highly Desired Qualifications, Work Experience, and Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Experience with Appian SAIL, Process Models, Interfaces, Process Monitoring, and/or IntegrationsExperience in handling multiple tasks, changing priorities, and timely action; experience with Agile methodologies and Agile project management.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, along with strong organizational and time management skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills in a remote environmentExperience working with software development team members.Desire to lead and take ownership for deliveryTeam player with the attitude to help and ask for help as neededOther open sources technology experience preferred
