Our systems are built around eCommerce: product data, order placement, tracking orders, returns, and inventory. We're proud of our best-in-class tooling that includes a GraphQL API, a gRPC backend system, and Typescript Node.js services.
About Rye:Rye is a set of commerce APIs that enables developers to profit from selling any product, without the complexities of inventory ownership, order fulfillment, or any other logistics. We want to transform online commerce to allow purchases to be made directly inside of any app - without any redirects.
What you'll do:Create high-quality, engaging, and clear documentation that effectively communicates complex technical concepts.Build scalable demos and tools to showcase the functionalities and use cases of our products.Utilize exceptional storytelling skills to articulate the value and intricacies of our technology to a diverse audience.Collaborate with various teams to enhance the developer experience.Build and maintain high-quality APIs for eCommerce, focusing on tracking orders, order placement, returns, and search engines.Stand up new infrastructure on GCP.Deliver exceptional and proactive developer support.Work independently with a remote-first team.
What we're looking for:2+ years of experience in backend engineering, particularly in Typescript, Node.js, and other relevant technologiesBackground in writing or technical writing, or a strong portfolio of written content (e.g., personal blog, published articles)Strong ability to craft clear and compelling technical narrativesAdept at simplifying complex technical topics for a broad audienceExperience building systems with a GraphQL API and a gRPC backend systemStrong understanding of best practices in software development and engineering
