Job SummaryReporting to the Development Manager, the successful candidate will join our highly skilled aviation Development Team working on our cutting-edge flight data management software; skybook. We are looking for someone who is experienced as a Fullstack Software Developer with a minimum of three years commercial experience.
Responsibilities and DutiesYou'll be working within the aviation software development team and be involved in the development of our award winning, flagship software skybook.Working on our web applications; PHP back-end / TypeScript front-end (React, CSS3)Working on our aviation service using NodeJS (TypeScript)Using Jira for development cycle using agile methodologiesBeing part of our development road map team, developing new modules for our softwareImproving the performance across our web applicationsWork towards being part of the Out of Hours on call rotation
Skills, knowledge and experienceBSc in Computer Science preferred (or equivalent qualifications and experience as a Software Developer will be considered)A genuine passion for Software Engineering is essential, as is commitment and drive to be successfulDemonstrable coding skills and an understanding of the necessities of cross-browser productionExperience with TypeScript (JavaScript) and JavaScript libraries to create rich interactive content would be beneficialExperience of PHP backend development would be beneficialExperience with Postgres / Oracle would be beneficialExperience with NodeJS (Express, redis, AWS services)Experience/knowledge of working with web technologies such as HTML5 and deploying solutions across responsive, cross platform devices/browsersExperience in working in sprintsMust be organised, able to work to deadlines and complete any learning and development as requiredMaintain a good level of awareness of the industry and trends, particularly regarding developmentKeep abreast of usability standards and emerging technologiesMust be a team player and have excellent communication skillsMust have meticulous attention to detail
LocationHeadquartered in Kirmington, North Lincolnshire we also have offices in Hull, East Yorkshire and support a remote working schedule. The successful candidate will be required to attend the offices to take part in meetings and training and as such, the post holder would need to be within a manageable commutable distance.
