WORDPRESS DEVELOPERCONTRACT | REMOTE | GREATER ATLANTA
Our client, a non-profit donor organization focused on charitable giving, is seeking a WordPress & PHP Developer with 5-10 years of experience to join their technical team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in developing “headless CMS” capabilities using WordPress, where content will be seen on their public website, the donor portal, and other digital assets. They are looking for someone to bridge the skills gap in PHP and WordPress within their software engineering team. We are interviewing Metro Atlanta-based candidates who can meet up occasionally for in-person collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate regularly with business stakeholders on the Marketing team.Collaborate regularly with project managers and other engineers on the team (Cloud Engineers, API Developers, React Developers, etc.).Convert the current intranet (currently written in PHP) to a WordPress-managed site and assist with the migration process to ensure a seamless and successful transition.Develop a new interactive investment tool/questionnaire that guides givers through a series of questions to help them identify the most suitable investment options.Develop enhancements to the public website and their intranet, as requested by the Marketing team.Integrate and enhance the WordPress CMS for streamlined content management.Possibly assist in developing the new donor portal (only if the candidate has previous React.js experience).Participate in occasional in-office or Atlanta-area in-person meetings in greater Atlanta.Availability to communicate and meet during regular business hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-10 years of proven experience as a Web Developer with strong expertise in WordPress, and PHP with an understanding of React (experience in React a plus, but not required).Previous experience using source code management and CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub, GitHub Action, etc.)Familiarity with API-driven development.Experience transitioning sites into WordPress-managed environments is a plus.Effective communication skills for remote and occasional in-person collaboration.Ability to work collaboratively and independently within a diverse engineering team environment.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.4-year degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field/experience.
