Job Summary: Our client is seeking a skilled Java developer to join the Surge Team – a group of elite developers passionate about crafting exceptional software solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining applications using the Spring Boot framework. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software that aligns with business requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain systems by writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code that aligns with quality standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement excellent software solutions.Design and execute test cases, cycles, and scripts for various tests, including unit, system, regression, acceptance, performance, and capacity tests.Utilize problem-solving techniques to gather requirements and diagnose system issues effectively.Work independently on assigned systems and roles, using appropriate skills and tools. Identify trends and new skills to define innovative processes and solutions that meet future demands.Adhere to best practices, provide accurate estimates, and deliver high-quality outputs in line with design patterns, team processes, department standards, and policies.Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders about progress and issues related to assigned systems.Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the insurance business to identify innovative tactical and strategic opportunities and implement solutions that enhance systems, processes, and services.
Requirements:At least 10 years of professional experience developing software solutions with the Java Spring framework.Exceptional design and development skills.Strong background with SQL.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Highly collaborative and communicative, thriving in a team environment.Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with high transparency and accountability.Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and a drive to achieve results.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and establish working relationships.Unquestioned ability to retain confidential business and personnel information.
Preferred Qualifications:Located in Minnesota.Experience with agile team environments.
Engagement Details:Open to an 18-month engagement, with the possibility of extension based on performance.Start date as early as August.On-site for 2-4 weeks for onboarding and relationship building with the team (travel expenses covered).After onboarding, the individual can work remotely.
