Experience and Education
Bachelor degree in Computer engineering or related fields.4+ years of experience with coding preferred.Ruby on Rails in a production environment. Extensive experience in Rails that goes beyond the basics. A test-oriented mindset. A thorough understanding of the full Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. PostgreSQL, especially in terms of how to optimize it. Ability to return lightning-fast search results. (AWS RDS experience a major plus)
Not required, but a major plus
React front ends in either JavaScript or TypesScript. Do you know the ins- and- outs of different CSS options? Build components that can be used for multiple purposes to save time and resources. ReScript (formerly known as ReasonML), a typed programming language that compiles into JavaScript. ReScript-React experience is valued. Docker, containerization, and automated scripting for deployment to multiple clouds. Experience working across multiple time zones. Open to feedback and continuous learning. Existing production products where you led the development of business-critical features. Sensitive to customer input and data to constantly improve the product. Ability to build products leveraging designs from Figma. Adapt quickly to changes in priority. Experience using profiling tools to analyze and improve performance issues. Familiarity with planning products like Shortcut. Strong planning aptitude with understanding of how to organize larger feature projects into epics, stories, and tasks.

Demonstrated passion for and commitment to coding. You not only love to code, but you continuously improve and learn new skills / programming languages. Independent worker that is self-motivated with the ability to work remotely using a reliable, fast Internet connection. Rapidly learn from mistakes and ability to research coding best-practices independently. Teach us something we don’t know! Excellent English communication skills. Name variables, modules, functions, etc. Written communication is more important than verbal communication.
