Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain professional quality software for scientific analysisUse best software engineering practices to write, document and maintain codeWrites code that can be run on local or cloud environment i.e. portable codeIntegrate disparate software systems on heterogeneous environmentsRefactor existing code to optimize speed, memory and maintainabilityAdopt Scrum/Agile development strategiesCommunicate clearly with a wide variety of stake holders - bioinformaticists, data scientists, biologists, geneticists, physicians, lab staff and infrastructure IT staff

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Understanding of fundamental design principle behind a scalable application.Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system.Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.Experience with writing various software documentsStrong unit test and debugging skills.

Nice-to-Have

Experience with SQLAlchemyExperience with Amazon Web Services or similar cloud-architectures.Experience with Azure App ProxyExperience with Docker or similar application container technologiesExperience with industry standard CI tool is preferred such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Teamcity, etcs.Experience in working with biological data will be a plus
