Junior WordPress Designer and Developer
About Us:Heavyweight Digital is a company based in Cape Town that specializes in transforming and automating WooCommerce stores through custom development, API and middleware solutions, tailor-made plugins, and ERP and shipping integrations.
What We’re Looking For:We are seeking a junior designer and developer who is passionate about web development, specifically WordPress, and is ready to handle client work involving Elementor and WooCommerce. The position starts with a standard probationary period of 3 months. If, after these 3 months, we have established a good working rhythm and are successfully satisfying our clients, there is potential for a long-term relationship. This is a remote position, 7 hours a day.
Key Responsibilities:Building WordPress websites using Elementor and WooCommerceImplementing designs from theme kitsTranslating client ideas and wishes into actionable tasks with our guidance and instructionAssisting with data collection and web scraping tasks for specific sitesMaintaining and updating existing WordPress websitesTroubleshooting and resolving website issuesEnsuring website performance, security, and responsivenessConducting website testing and optimizationCreating and managing website backupsAssisting with content updates and site maintenance tasks
Requirements:Technical Skills:Experience with WordPress, Elementor, and WooCommerceProficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptBasic understanding of PHP and MySQLExperience with responsive design and mobile-first developmentKnowledge of website performance optimization techniquesSoft Skills:Coachable and very eager to learnStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication skills, both written and verbalTime management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Salary:Between R10,000.00 ZAR and R15,000.00 ZAR per month, depending on experience
