We are seeking an experienced BigCommerce Developer with a minimum of 5 years of experience on the platform and related technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solution implementation, focusing primarily on backend development, infrastructure management, product catalog structure, and checkout process management. This role requires a developer who can balance the need for customization with the potential pitfalls of excessive modification, handle both B2C and B2B requirements, mentor junior team members, and communicate effectively with a team of developers, QAs, and BAs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Solution Implementation:Develop and implement robust solutions on the BigCommerce platform, ensuring high performance and reliability.Manage and optimize the backend infrastructure to support scalable and secure e-commerce operations.Product Catalog Structure:Design and maintain an efficient product catalog structure, ensuring ease of navigation and searchability for end-users.Implement strategies for managing large product catalogs, including categories, attributes, and variants.Checkout Process Management:Oversee the checkout process, ensuring it is streamlined, secure, and user-friendly.Implement and maintain payment gateways, shipping methods, and tax rules.Customization Management:Customize the BigCommerce platform to meet specific business requirements, while being mindful of the potential downsides of excessive customization.Balance the need for custom solutions with the platform's out-of-the-box functionality to ensure maintainability and scalability.B2C and B2B Requirements:Address both B2C and B2B requirements, creating tailored solutions for different customer segments.Implement features such as customer-specific pricing, bulk ordering, and account management for B2B customers.Mentorship and Team Collaboration:Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.Collaborate effectively with a team of approximately 10 developers, QAs, and BAs, ensuring clear communication and coordinated efforts.Communication and Documentation:Communicate technical concepts and solutions clearly to team members and stakeholders.Document implementation processes, customizations, and best practices for future reference.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience working with the BigCommerce platform and related technologies.Proven experience in backend development, infrastructure management, and solution implementation on BigCommerce.Technical Skills:Strong understanding of BigCommerce APIs and integration capabilities.Experience with product catalog structure, checkout process management, and customization best practices.Proficiency in backend programming languages (.Net framework, C#) and database management (SQL Server).Familiarity with e-commerce best practices, including security, performance optimization, and user experience.Soft Skills:Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capability to work effectively in a team of developers, QAs, and BAs.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
