We are Smartpricing, and we support small and medium-sized accommodation providers with solutions to help them fight back against the huge hotel chains. We started in 2020 by providing these companies with a dynamic pricing manager which can update room prices 100 times per day, and increase revenue by 30%. We were named one of Italy’s top start-ups in 2023, and are the fastest growing B2B SaaS company in the accommodation space in both revenue and number of clients. Today we are working with over 3000 companies in over 17 countries, and steadily growing. Yet, this is only the start of our journey.

As we head into the latter half of 2024, we are looking to launch a suite of new products and focus on internationalizing our reach further. We aim to work with 5000 SMB clients by the end of this year, and aim to keep our 100% growth rate up well into next year. This means we have a very exciting time ahead of us, and require to work with some of the best people the tech industry has.

What Will You Do?

Our technology team is building a platform of solutions that will help accommodation providers optimise the way they run their business. We are investing a lot in R&D with the intention to double the amount of products we host on our platform by the end of the year, and as such we are expanding our engineering team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Backend Developer to join us on our exciting journey. You will be dedicated to one of our three main technology areas, working hands-on on architectural design, development, deployment and maintenance of backend microservices. You will have ownership of the product and will come up with innovative solutions and ideas to technical problems whilst working collaboratively with a wider team of engineers and team leaders on critical issues.

You will be responsible for:

Backend Development: architectural design, coding and deployment of new product features and microservices Maintenance of the existing product: identifying bottlenecks and areas of optimisation to ensure high quality performanceProduct ownership: create innovative solutions to deal with technical issues and ideas for increasing product performanceCollaborative working: with our team of wider engineers and product managers to deliver high quality solutions and new product featuresAdhere to best engineering practices: ensure code quality by writing clean, maintainable code and performing code reviews

What Are We Looking For?

Experience as a Backend Developer in a start-up or scale-up environment In depth knowledge of Node.js or PHP Knowledge of Docker and k8sExposure to CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, Circle CI)Knowledge of databases as Postgres and Cassandra (or equivalents)Experience with Kafka (or equivalents) and distributed applications (microservices)
