Position Description:
This candidate should be familiar with scripting, custom application development, etc. This role will be leading integration activities, for the core application development using ServiceNow App Engine. This role requires extensive experience with Integration Technologies (Web Services (REST/SOAP), middleware, LDAP, SSO, JDBC, Import Sets, Export Sets, IDR (instance data replication), Remote Tables, Remote Process, etc.)
Responsibilities:
Participate in an agile team, contributing to all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, code review, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions.Guide junior and mid-level software developers, including peer reviews and paired programming to support sound coding practices and adherence to operating standards.Design systems that follow industry best practices and meet our clients’ needs.Support and enhance a software web application architecture that includes databases (Oracle, Postgres, etc.), RESTful web services (Spring, JSON, XML, etc.), a variety of user interface frameworks (Angular, APEX, Struts 2, etc.), and systems and security integration.Implement technical requirement specifications into working software that satisfies acceptance criteria.Produce technical documentation and specifications as needed to support our business needs.Contribute to improvements in the software development lifecycle, utilizing practices such as test-driven development, static code analysis, code reviews, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated security scanning.Recommend continuous improvements to operating standards for such items as change control, source code control, issue tracking, time reporting, etc.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of ScienceRequired Experience: 5+ years’ experience in information technology or software development (application development, systems integration).Java and TypeScript programming experience preferred. A Master's degree or specialized certification will count as 2 years of experience, and a PhD as 4 years of experience.Experience developing responsive, mobile-friendly web-based applications that integrate seamlessly with APIs and back-end databases. Experience estimating development tasks and identifying associated risks and dependencies.Experience guiding junior or mid-level software developers through peer reviews and productive feedback on coding practices.Proficiency with fundamental languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JSP.Proficiency programming in modern frameworks such as Angular and Spring Boot.Proficiency with database languages such as PostgreSQL and Oracle SQL.Experience working on an agile software development team.Excellent communication skills with experience developing, communicating, and executing complex ideas.Attention to detail and desire to contribute sound recommendations to influence product decisions.
