Front End Developer - Work for the oldest coin gallery in the nation! Location: Fully Remote working in your time zone Contract to hire!

We are looking for an End to End Software Engineer to work with a small team to implement front-end and back-end design and application code in launching a new web-based consumer product for our established company. You will be one of the first hires for this new ground-up product development and will be instrumental in its' design, development, and evolution. You will be primarily responsible for driving the front-end development of the product and supporting the integration of UI with backend components. You may also be required to perform incidental support or modify/maintain existing systems but it will be a minority of your responsibilities.To be successful, you should be creative, self-motivated, and enjoy collaborating with a small but tight development team. We're very deadline and deliverable driven and believe strongly in transparency and communication. We are a distributed team and all work remotely but are expected to be available during regular business hours.

Essential duties & responsibilities:Contribute to the design and development of a new set of consumer-facing software productsProvide usability and user experience directionContribute to and support the ongoing evolution of the existing assets and servicesTroubleshoot software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutionsTroubleshoot User Experience issues and develop solutions and improvementsAssist in task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffingDetermine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes

RequirementsMust be located in the USAMinimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer/programmer (LAMP stack)Minimum of 3 years UI/graphical design and developmentMinimum 2 years of Wordpress theme or plugin development experienceWordpress custom plugin and theme developmentStrong Javascript, SQL and CSSStrong AJAX and interactive, data-driven UIUnderstanding of RESTful API developmentBroad experience designing, programming, and implementing large information systemsAbility to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of dutiesSysadmin experience in a production web environment a plus but not required
