About Trev & the roleOur aim is to take the pain out of managing farm data and become New Zealand’s favourite farm reporting and productive insights tool. The Trev platform is changing the way farmers record and analyse their information by improving their farm’s productivity, sustainability and profitability.

This is a brand new role, reporting to the CTO and part of a collaborative, fun and curious team. Trev is expanding from a web app to offer a cross-platform React Native mobile app, which is approaching launch. You will play a very key role in creating and enhancing this and future mobile applications and features from the ground up.

Your key areas of responsibilities will be: Architect, develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and reliable mobile applications for iOS/Android using React Native.Participate in the entire mobile application development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, testing, and release.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.Work closely with the CTO to define, design, and implement new mobile application features.Ensure seamless integration of new features and updates into the mobile applications.Perform thorough testing of releases across different devices and platforms to identify and address any issues before deployment, ensuring a high-quality user experience with each product release.Conduct regular testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and address performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues.Create alignment and transition legacy applications to our current product and development strategy.Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development trends, tools, and technologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

The experience and skills you’ll bring:Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).Proven experience as a Mobile Developer, with a portfolio of mobile applications showcasing your skills and expertise.Proficiency in mobile application development for iOS & Android platforms using React Native. Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices using Expo is a plus.Prior experience working in a greenfield role or startup environment is a plus.
