Java Developer

Role: Java Developer Location: USA Remote Job Type: Full Time Employment Detailed Description:The Member Engagement space is currently going through a product and technology transformation. The new product applications are being built using Java, Kotlin, React, and AWS based technologies. This role will be focused on the development of the new product and serve as an onshore presence for the offshore team.The agile team as a whole owns the application and codebase and is expected to share responsibility for building new features, ensuring existing functionality continues to operate, and propose and implement enhancements. Team members are empowered to own their tasks from beginning to end, driving them to closure.Day-to-day activities include: * Participates in the design, development, and operation of the applications. * Provide hands-on coding of Java/Kotlin and React based applications. * Serve as an onshore presence for offshore teams, addressing urgent issues during business hours and facilitating communication when needed. * Develop in-depth knowledge of applications and cloud infrastructure within application portfolio. * Mentor junior team members and participate in code reviews. What are the requirements? * Minimum of 4 years with Java technologies. * Knowledge of general database design and Hibernate tools. * Experience with software engineering best practices including establishing coding standards, design patterns, continuous delivery, code reviews, TDD, and secure coding principles. * Collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Linux and Docker * AWS What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? * Building single-page applications using React or another framework. * Terraform * Other JVM languages such as Groovy and Kotlin
