About the role:Now we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer for our US Healthcare project! We are on a mission to remove transportation as a barrier to healthcare and improve health system transportation logistics. We are building solutions to solve healthcare's most challenging transportation problems to deliver improvements in access to care, hospital length of stay, ER utilization, and overall patient experience. Our team works with major health systems like UCSF Health and the VA to provide door-through door companion ride share services and SAAS based total transportation management solutions custom built for healthcare. Responsibilities:Deliver working, tested application features according to our product roadmapWorking closely with Product Management and Stakeholders to understand product requirements and design features that solve issues.Collaborating with the development team to define implementation strategies and convert those requirements into Agile user stories.Producing quality code and delivering working, tested features on-time.Working with our Quality Assurance team to ensure that features are delivered with quality.Supporting Existing Applications and their InfrastructureDeveloping a deep understanding of our existing applications and their logic/codeAssist the team in investigating and diagnosing issues as they arise.Ensure that new and existing applications are well-supported and make efficient use of our infrastructure via adding and utilizing logging, usage and performance monitoring and by tuning our application’s resources (databases and servers).Coaching and mentoringParticipate in the Agile development process, attending daily scrum, grooming, planning meetings and design sessions.Engage with other team members to provide mentoring and coaching, perform code reviews and provide feedback to enable their personal growth and developmentParticipate in the interviewing and hiring process as we grow the team.Help us build a culture of excellence in software development.Other Duties as assigned

Requirements:7+ years experience delivering software applications in a production environment. Experience in delivering healthcare related solutions is a plus.Proficiency in high-level development languages like C#, Java, Ruby, etc. is required. Proficiency in querying, building and tuning relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, etc. Experience with Postgres is strongly preferred, especially using Active Record and GraphQL.Familiarity with web application development using modern frameworks is preferred. Experience delivering mobile applications is a plus.Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms like Heroku, AWS and Azure is required.Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum and/or Kanban) and collaborating with a diverse group of teammates and stakeholders is required.Proven ability to build and deploy commercially successful technology solutions is requiredPassion for creating intuitive, simple user experiences is a plus.Comfort working with engineers to minimize technical complexity while delivering solutions that meet the needs of our customers.Adaptable, curious, and a skilled problem-solver. You embrace the unknown and are able to adapt to shifts in priorities.
