OverviewManage company OLTP and OLAP servers. Responsibilities include maintaining the current database systems, supporting the design and implementation of changes to the databases, establishing policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance, and use of the database management systems. The successful applicant will be involved in managing client enquiries and face-to-face client’s activities.

Main Tasks and AccountabilitiesData Insight / Data MiningRecoverability - Creating and testing BackupsIntegrity – Verify data integritySecurity - Defining and/or implementing access controls to the data. Updates and upgradesAvailability - Ensuring maximum uptimePerformance - Ensuring maximum performance given budgetary constraintsDevelopment and testing support - Assist programmers and to efficiently utilise the database

Experience/Knowledge/Qualification requiredOver 5 years of professional experience developing SQL softwareAdvanced PL/SQL or similarGood experience SQL skills (experience with PostgreSQL / Greenplum is a plus)AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudWatch…)Linux (shell, crons...), Ansible / Terraform, replication, pgWatchPython is a plusComputer Science degree or related Character and Personal QualitiesEnjoy working in a teamWillingness to accept challengesAbility and desire to work with complex, integrated solutionsGood problem solving skills with attention to details“Think outside the box” & “Can do” attitudeAbility to work independently and with limited oversight
