About the role
As a Sr Principal Hardware Developer, you will be(come) the technical lead on Memory in Oracle, supporting engineering, operations, OCI, Exadata and customers in the field along all aspect of product life cycle (Concept/NPI/Sustaining/EOL). You are the primary technical interface to internal engineering teams and memory suppliers as well as commodity and program teams within Oracle. You will provide input for memory RAS requirements to design teams and memory suppliers. You must have a thorough understanding of various memory/DRAM technologies including operation, protocol, capabilities, interfaces, RAS, SI/PI requirements, failure mechanisms, vulnerability etc.

Responsibilities
Thorough understanding via hands on experience of various memory/DRAM technologies including operation, protocol, capabilities, interfaces, RAS, SI/PI requirements, etc.Ability to lead and manage memory related projects from concept, through NPI and sustaining leveraging across all products where possibleTechnical interface to internal commodity and program teams and external memory suppliers, ability to communicate clearly and effectively to drive issue triage, debug and resolutionProvide input for memory RAS requirements to design teams and memory suppliers with an ability to forecast needsAssist OCI and Exadata teams on deciding which types/density/speed memory to productizeManages sustaining DIMM quals via Internal Qual process (Ex. Determine which DIMMs to qualify, and on which platforms etc)Enumerate required tests, expected results and review of dataMonitor relevant JEDEC task group activity, Industry trends and Communicate pertinent information to Engineering, Memory Commodity and Product teams
Expected Skills
ILOM (BMC) proficiency for testing and debug purposesBasic Linux/OS proficiencyBasic programming skills – C, JAVA, Python or scripting skills for test and debug.Board design/layout analysis using Cadence toolsWorking knowledge of signal and power integrity to help guide tradeoffs between motherboard and DIMM layout and designWorking knowledge of computer system architecturePrevious product development experience in addition to memory focus

US: Hiring Range: from $120,100 - $251,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
