iOS Developer for a medical technology company in Edinburgh (can work remotely in the UK).
The company are an award-winning MedTech company that provide both the public and medical professionals with simple, fast mobile applications that allow for affordable and accessible diagnosis of common medical issues.
Having secured impressive funding in the past, they've successfully secured more funding and are looking to grow their Mobile Development team off the back of this. This is a chance to join a company that is making a positive impact on society.
What will I be doing?
Great question!
You'll work across a few different projects which are a mix of brown and greenfield. They're building some SDKs so their app can be consumed by other companies, have their main iOS app which is almost completely Swift now and have some other interesting projects on the horizon. They're in the process of moving over to SwiftUI, so if you have any experience of this, it'd be a massive bonus.
Although much of your time will be spent working on their iOS applications, there is the opportunity to do some work on their Android apps too, so experience working across iOS and Android would really make you stand out. They've also got a computer vision team, so any interest or experience in this field would also be interesting to them.
Who am I?
It's obviously pretty essential for that you've came from an iOS Development background working with Swift. A mid-level Developer to them is someone that can take tickets or tasks set by more experienced members of the team and deliver them without much assistance.
They've built a great culture in the company, so away from the tech side, they're looking for people that will fit in well to that. As mentioned, they like people that can be autonomous and like people that come in and put their own ideas forward. As an example, the majority of their CI stuff has been implemented by someone that came into the business and was passionate about it.
Who will I be working with?
You'll obviously work very closely with the rest of the mobile team and especially with the iOS team. By the end of this recruitment drive, they'll have 3 iOS Developers, 3 Android Developers and a Mobile Lead.
You'll be working underneath a couple of Senior Developers, who you'll be able to get guidance and advice from. Having helped the company to find both of them, I know that they're both super friendly and very strong technically too, so it's a great opportunity to learn.
With social good at the heart of what they do, not only are you getting a chance to work for what in my opinion will be one of the most exciting companies in Scotland, you'll also have a positive impact on the world.
How much will I be getting paid and where will I be based?
There is a budget of up to £50,000 for the role but they could potentially stretch this for someone spot on. With added benefits which include a strong holiday package, career growth and the chance to work on something that genuinely matters!
They're a remote-first company with shared office space in Edinburgh, with most of the tech team being in Edinburgh as well. Ideally, they'll find someone that is based near Edinburgh but they're more than happy to consider fully remote people too. The team do try and meet up for meetings once per month in Edinburgh so ideally, you'll be flexible enough to get involved in that. Interviews and on-boarding will all be done remotely.
