We are currently seeking a Lead Ruby Developer to join our dynamic remote team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of applications that support pricing, trading, hedging, pooling, and shipping functions. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain applications supporting pricing, trading, hedging, pooling, and shipping functionsUtilize the latest tools and techniques, such as Ruby/Rails, RSpec, PostgreSQL, and JavaScript, for automation and systems developmentDemonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization’s culture and valuesUtilize BDD/TDD techniques during development, focusing on unit testingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project completionContribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practicesLead and support the team of engineersMentor and guide junior developers to encourage skill enhancement and career growthStay updated on industry trends and best practices in software developmentParticipate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience5+ years of relevant work experience1+ year of relevant leadership experienceProficiency in Ruby/Rails, RSpecStrong command over JavaScript for scriptingExperience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)Knowledge of design patterns, refactoring, and unit testingExperience with Linux and open source softwareFamiliarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) in automated testingB2+ English level proficiency
Nice to have
Familiarity with Elixir programmingKnowledge of Agile Methodologies, such as Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum
