Python Developer (SQL/NoSQL, AWS Lambda)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Python Developer with a strong background in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases. The ideal candidate will also have experience in deploying and managing serverless applications using AWS Lambda. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that support our platform's features and services.

Key Responsibilities:

•⁠ ⁠Design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend services that power Climatise's platform.•⁠ ⁠Work with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases to store, retrieve, and manage data efficiently.•⁠ ⁠Develop and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda and related AWS services (e.g.,AppSync, S3, CloudWatch).•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with front-end developers and product manager to integrate new features and improve existing functionality.•⁠ ⁠Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of the platform's backend services.•⁠ ⁠Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following best practices and industry standards.•⁠ ⁠Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.•⁠ ⁠Monitor and troubleshoot application performance issues, implementing necessary fixes and optimizations.•⁠ ⁠Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications:

•⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.•⁠ ⁠3+ years of professional experience in Python development.•⁠ ⁠Strong proficiency with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).•⁠ ⁠Experience in developing and deploying serverless applications using AWS Lambda.•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with AWS services such as AppSync, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.•⁠ ⁠Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.•⁠ ⁠Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.•⁠ ⁠Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.•⁠ ⁠Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

•⁠ ⁠Experience with other AWS services such as RDS, ECS, and Lambda Layers.•⁠ ⁠Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as AWS codebuild.•⁠ ⁠Understanding of microservices architecture.•⁠ ⁠Passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
