Responsibilities
Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a professional Principal Software Developer with skill sets to help build the next generation of Asset Performance Management software. Under limited supervision, this person plans and conducts complex programming/software assignments in the development of APM software products. Assignments will be in one or more of the following areas, such as, designing and writing application software APIs, analytics, data model, integration, or user interface.
Assignments require the use of independent judgment and the full use and application of programming/software principles, theories and concepts. Regularly interacts with technical and software personnel within the team and within in other areas of the Company. On occasion, interacts with personnel outside of the Company. Leads the design and development of complex application features. Works with cross-functional teams across the organization to solve complex development challenges Mentor other developers in best practices for software design and development May also write automated tests and conduct tests for validating new or modified software. Will perform other reasonable related duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (preferably Computer Science). Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree 10+ years of working experience in software development. Working knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Working knowledge of Web development using REST, Javascript and Vue/Vuetify. Working knowledge of .NET development (C# and ASP.NET). Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL).
Preferred
Working knowledge of .NET Core/.NET 8 Working knowledge of Cloud computing and Kubernetes technology Understanding of agile software development methodology/scrum Preference will be given to candidates that are currently located in the Roanoke, VA area.
