What does a typical day look like for the Backend Software Developer?
The person in this position will do the following:Participate in high-functioning software development projects, including design and testInterpret requirements and design specifications to develop, debug, test, and maintain software applications to be deployed against a broad array of platforms and cloud servicesMaintain current knowledge of relevant technologyProactively manage relationships with other team membersPresent complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiencesFacilitate consensus building and resolution of complex technical issuesBe an active participant in their development along their career path
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the Backend Software Developer we’re looking for if you have:A U.S. Citizen and willing to undergo a federal background checkA bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or another related scientific or technical discipline (or equivalent experience)2+ years of experience in software developmentDemonstrated skills with:PythonDeveloping REST APIs, Django REST Framework (DRF) preferredThe ability to work independently and think abstractlyA demonstrated history of solving ambiguous problemsA willingness to learn new technologies
We’re extra impressed by folks with:Experience developing and deploying to AWS/Azure and other cloud providersPostgreSQL experience, including data integration, data modeling, performance tuning, and stored proceduresCoursework or certifications related to cybersecurityModern JavaScript, preferably real-world Vue.js experienceOAuth2.0 and OpenID Connect implementation experienceTechnical knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)Experience building complex, multi-tier software systems and or servicesA strong interest in troubleshooting challenging issues
