As a technical writer, you’ll help produce public, customer-facing documentation for Redis Open Source and other projects. These include technical explainers, tutorials, step-by-step examples, and other materials. What You’ll Do
Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to create and update documentation for upcoming releases.Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, readability, and clarity.Continuously strive for the completeness and usability of our technical documentation, and write for an audience of database administrators, data engineers, software developers, and software architects.Design and develop new ways to present complex technical concepts that help novices and experts alike.
What will you need to have?
BA/BS degree in English, communications, computer science or a related field or demonstrable equivalent experience 2+ years experience writing technical documentation for a software or hardware company OR 2+ years in software engineering (or a related field) with demonstrated skill and experience in technical writing (for example, you've written a book, published technical tutorials, helped document technical processes or source code, etc.).Able to read basic source code in one of the following programming languages: C#, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Bash.Excellent written and oral communication in English.Experience documenting enterprise or open source software. Published examples of documentation you've personally written.Experience with documentation systems, static-site generators, and related workflows; examples might include, Hugo, Jekyll, or Sphinx.Experience with git, GitHub, or similar version control systems.

Experience working in a fully remote capacityKnowledge of databases (NoSQL, RDBMS, etc.)Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud computing, and containers (Docker and Kubernetes)
